Below are some of the most commonly asked questions in this office. If you don't see the answer to your question, just send us a message and we'll get back to you as soon as we can.

Do I need to make an appointment?

 

No appointments required. Feel free to come in during business hours, answer a few short questions, and drop your tax documents off with us.  We'll give you a call if there are any questions and when it's ready. Then you can drop by anytime to pick up your tax return, documents, and pay any amount due. You are always more than welcome to make an appointment if you would prefer to sit down and discuss your taxes.

I'm a new client. Should I make an appointment?

 

New clients are always welcome to make appointments to sit down with one of our tax professionals, but it is not required. If you decide against an appointment, we have a new client form available on this website and at the office that will need to be filled out and then a few short questions once you arrive at the office. We'll handle everything else and call you when your return is ready.

Can I make a same-day appointment?

 

Unfortunately, no. Though we love meeting with our clients, we schedule our days based on appointments made at least 24 hours ahead of time and schedule in the gaps with preparation of returns that have already been dropped off. We ask that all appointments be made with at least 24 hours advanced notice.

I'm not located in the BCS area. Can you still prepare my taxes?

 

Absolutely! Tax documents and information can be e-mailed, faxed, mailed in, or dropped off by a family member. We can then  e-mail you or snail mail you a copy of your tax return upon completion.

What is the turnaround for preparation of a tax return?

 

We have a 1-2 week turnaround for preparation of tax returns. Preparation can take longer if we are missing documents required to complete your return.

Is my bill for Accounting services deductible?

 

Yes, the amount you pay for preparation of your tax return is deductible on the Schedule A of your tax return, but only if you itemize your deductions. So don't forget to include your tax prep fee from the prior year with your information if you itemize or plan to itemize deductions.

Do I need to bring all of my tax documents or can I just write down the numbers?

 

We need all of your original tax documents for verification of tax ID numbers and payments.

Can I just bring in my receipts or do I need to total them?

 

We would prefer you total your own receipts, but we can total them for you. The additional time will be added to your bill.

When do I need to provide all of my tax documents to you?

 

We require that all documents be brought in by March 31st to guarantee a tax return by the April 15th deadline. No guarantee will be available for documents brought in later. For the October 15th deadline, we require all documents by September 1st.

When are my estimated tax payments due?

 

1st quarter payments are due April 15th. 2nd quarter payments are due June 15th. 3rd quarter payments are due September 15th. 4th quarter payments are due January 15th of the next year. Dates may vary a little if they land on a holiday or weekend. Assume the deadline is the next business day if either scenario occurs.
